What Data and Personal Information is Collected on Validage.net?
Validage is a contracted entity which collects information, via the registration form, from registrants for a participating organization, such as a specific league or tournament that needs to expedite registration and verify registrants. Validage collects only the necessary data to complete any regular seasonal registration and we make it available online behind your password-protected account so you don't have to bring your paperwork to each game or sporting event. Validage provides a variety of services for the organization and it's registrants including creating Validage Sports ID Cards and verifying the age and identity of tournament and league participants. The registration form may or may not require submission of the following information: (a) full name; (b) date of birth; (c) email address; (d) a registrant-specified password; (e) mailing address; and (e) any and all information associated with the individual (such as name, address, parent’s names, parent’s driver’s license numbers) that is required by Validage to complete the applicable certification, send you email communications, or to respond to your inquiry. Once you elect to provide us with personal information, it will be utilized only to support your registrant/user relationship with Validage.
What We Do with your Data
During the registration process we ask users to submit copies of birth certificates for each player and a drivers license from a parent or guardian in addition to a current photograph of each player. We also require data to be submitted through our secure data entry forms to organize and streamline the ordering process. The majority of this information is used by our team to verify and validate the individual's identity before creation of the ID card, as this is a vital part of the process. Birth certificates, drivers licenses and address information are stored in our highly secure database and will not be shared with third parties or made available to the public.
In addition to the physical ID card, an online card will be created for each player, containing the photo, name, date of birth and other sport specific information required by officials to verify the identity of each player. This information is also secured behind your password-protected account that you created during registration. This data is only available to registered users and is an alternative form of identification in addition to the physical ID card. The online card is very helpful in case you misplace your physical ID card or forget it at home.
*Parents may chose not to have an online card for their children although this means they must have the physical ID card on hand at all events or otherwise may be ineligible to participate.
